Pulse Reverse Osmosis

The osmolality is a measure of the total number of particles in a solution. The COP is a measure of those molecules too big to pass through the holes in a membrane. The osmolality is generally much larger than the COP.

One milliosmole of osmolality is equivalent to 19.8 mmHg pressure. Normal plasma COP 10,000ís are in the range of 22-28mmHg. This is equivalent to an osmolality of 1-1.5 milliosmol/kg.
